About Us

Our Mission

Next Step Progress is creating economic empowerment among generations by transforming the landscape of financial education in the 21st Century and turning neighborhoods into vibrant communities. Student and community leaders across the U.S. advocate for intergenerational wealth in their local communities.

Our History

Next Step Progress was founded in 2007 by Kendrall Masten, who was at the time serving in the Peace Corps in the landlocked country of Zambia. After working in many culturally diverse environments, including rural Africa, Kendrall was inspired to make a difference by creating sustainable economic empowerment in underserved U.S. neighborhoods by engaging the next generation of leaders. The movement is homage to Kendrall’s African ancestors and all the people around the world who deserve an opportunity to achieve intergenerational wealth.

Impact

“Empowerment is all about self-worth and if that sense of worth and value is not fostered within and throughout a person’s culture it becomes extremely difficult to demand and command your right to intergenerational wealth. As Next Step Progress Ambassadors, we offer a personal and cultural awareness to the communities we touch everyday.”
